Kyoto Train Station

Kyoto Train Station is the city's modern JR station.  The metal and glass structure was designed by architect Hara Koji and completed in 1997.

The building incorporates a shopping area which is called "The Cube".  The Kyoto central bus station is located north of the station.

High-speed rail service operates from Kyoto to Tokyo, Osaka and many other destinations.  Train tickets can either be purchased online or at the station.

Kyoto Station is easy to find as it is located right across the street from the Kyoto Tower.
