Kansai International Airport

Kansai International Airport (KIX) is one of Osaka's two large airports.  It is located south of downtown Osaka and is therefore further from Kyoto than the Osaka International Airport.

There is a very nice hotel in Izumisano called the Kansai Airport Washington Hotel. It is located close to Kansai Airport, provides a free airport shuttle service and has an excellent buffet restaurant.

Thee are three options available for travelling between Kyoto and Kansai International Airport.  They are:

1. JR Express Train (¥3,690)
2. JR Train via Osaka Station (¥1,830)
3. Local Trains + Osaka Metro ((¥1,510)

Unless, you are pressed for time, the second option is the most convenient and cost effective.
