Deva Gate

Deva Gate is the impressive archway that leads to the Kiyomizu-dera temple.

There are two other gates at this famous temple: the Eastern Gate and the Western Gate.

Deva Gate

Deva Gate is located in Eastern Kyoto at the top of a steep staircase that leads down to a historic pedestrian pathway.

Many shops, restaurants and cafes are located along the pathway.

Make sure to hike along the connecting pathway that runs north to many of the other east-side temples and shrines.
